Our A team clocked their first league win of the season and indeed it
was well earned. A goal from Ronan Geraghty assisted by Ray Moran
just minutes in, was enough to seal 3 valuable points and prop us a
little bit further up the table. Colga created but a few chances as
there was little more to shout about in the first half. In the 2nd
half, Joe Finnerty missed a one-on-one opportunity while Conor O Grady
& Niall Dempsey also missed the target from close range..
Our B team beat Tuam Celtic 4-1 in a classy affair. Niall Skehill
claimed his first ever hat-trick while Kerrill Lally also found the
target to claim the points.
Our u-13’s beat Corofin 1-0 to advance in this cup tie in a heated
contest. Lee Murphy scored from the penalty spot early in the 2nd
half in a tight encounter where chances were few. Lorcan Molloy did
trojan work at midfield while Aidan Monaghan showed some great
trickery up front. The usual suspects, as ever, were to the fore,
Paul Lally, Ronan Carr, Gerard Warde while Sean Murray also came to
the rescue, on many occassions, where he kept Colemanstown in the game
with some top class saves.
Our u-11s were the dominant team in their Cup tie in a 7-1 drubbing of
Barna -Furbo. James Barclay (2), Conor O’Neill (2) Thomas ‘Mossy’
Carr (2) & Odhran Loughrey were the goal scorers while Stephen Kelly
in goal saved a penalty when the scoreline was a bit closer and it
mattered most. Shane Lally assisted in 2 of the goals while Josh Lane
& Conor O’Neill were instrumental in others. Ali Layton also hit the
woodwork in a build up to one of the goals. Colm Hansberry, Jack
Kennedy,James Moran & Jack Hughes were rarely troubled in defense
while Darren Brennan showed great vision & composure in finding his
colleague in the best position to score. Conor O Flaherty also had a
goal disallowed following his introduction, while Dylan Laffey &
Blaine Burke came off the bench and added extra momentum to the game.
