Colemanstown U15B’s 2 – 1 Galway Bohs ‘B’
Tadhg Hart grabbed the winner to claim his brace as our U15B team scored more than once for the first time in two seasons in a thrilling victory over Galway Bohs ‘B’ on Saturday. It was described by the management as akin to winning the World Cup.
Colemanstown started strongest and set the tone early on as Tadhg Hart won a free which he took himself and found the top right corner. Bohs equalised from a corner 10mins later as Colemanstown wasted several half chances to press home their dominance. But Colemanstown recovered from conceding the equaliser to go in front through Hart again. Libby Kennedy’s corner was defended by Bohs but fell to Tadhg Hart whose powerful half volley from the edge of the box put Colemanstown ahead again before the break. That proved to be the winner and left the score 2-1 at half time.
The second half belonged to Bohs as they pressed hard for an equaliser and ultimately even a winner. But Colemanstown sustained the pressure for the entire half which epitomised a wonderful game of defending under severe pressure as well as some top class goalkeeping from Tommy Nutley who denied Bohs on numerous occasions. Colemanstown’s 2nd half chances were kept up a minimum as Hart saw further chances saved, Niall Grady’s effort was saved by the keeper & James Somers got too much power behind his hit. Eoghan Ryan & Tiernan Malone were powerful at centre back while Sean Keating had an excellent game on his introduction. Lucy Roberts at left back & Niall Grady did what was asked of them with Michael Lally slotting in well into left back when required. Erin Black, Noah McDonnell, James Somers & Joe Carroll did plenty of work in the middle third. Up front, the Kennedy sisters, Niamh & Libby, Dylan King & Tadhg Hart never gave up.
In the end the final whistle came at the right time as Seamie Somers & Marty Hart’s side held on for a stunning 2-1 home win. Well done lads & lassies & management duo. Squad: Tommy Nutley, Lucy Roberts, Eoghan Ryan, Tiernan Malone, Niall Grady, Erin Black, Noah McDonnell, James Somers, Niamh Kennedy, Libby Kennedy, Tadhg Hart, Joe Carroll, Sean Keating, Michael Lally, Dylan King.
Colemanstown United U13’s 2- 1 Renmore
Colemanstown travelled to Renmore on Saturday morning looking for their first win of the season. The first half saw Colemanstown play with the hill and as the half wore on, the away team were dominant. With 10 minutes to go before the half time whistle, Keelyn Kirby latched on to a through ball and slotted home our first. 2 minutes later in an almost identical build up from Thomas Screene, Caolan O’Neill, Cathal Maybin and Adam Kenny in mid-field, Keelyn was in for his 2nd of the morning. 2 – 0 at the break in what was going to be a game of 2 halves.
Early pressure came from Renmore in the opening exchanges of the 2nd half however our back 4 of Dermot Parker, Riain Donohue, Adam Devaney and Daniel Booth soaked up any signs of threat on John Parkers goals. Joshua Lualdi played as a classic number 9 up front and continued to hunt down every ball in the final third making it extremely difficult for Renmore to set up any attempts. One chance did however fall to the home team when a ball whipped in from the right flank was turned in by Keelyn Kirby who was tracking back on his counterpart.
