Oranmore were thumped 8-0 by our rampant U12’s in their second last game of the season against Oranmore yesterday evening. Gareth & Johnny Lally’s charges raced into an early lead against a massive breeze and were 2-0 up at the break. Colemanstown had a few chances before Jason Rabbitte was put through by Cian Ruane to finish well. Top scorer for the U12’s this season, Harry Mitchell notched the first of his hat-trick on 20mins when he capitalised on a spilled ball from the Oranmore custodian. These young guns failed to let up in the 2nd half as they flanked Oranmore’s half of the pitch. Colemanstown scored 6 more, although it could have been double that with many missed chances. Tommy Mellody notched three in a row to claim his second hat-trick of the season. Harry added two more to claim his hat-trick and Jason Rabbitte crowned a good evening’s work with another goal.
Eoin Keague was introduced and played well in centre mid spraying the ball about nicely. It was an evening when Conor Laffey could have made a few daisy chains in goals given the little ball which came his way. Adam Cleary, Dara Scarry & Luke Williams were solid particularly in the first half when playing against a tough breeze. Thomas Mellody, Ciárán Keating, Cian Ruane & Jason Rabbitte anchored everything across the middle while up front Harry Mitchell remained the thorn in the opposition’s side he has been all year. With just one game to play against Kinvara at home this Saturday come along to support the lads. The squad & mentors wish Jonathan Keane a speedy recovery in his arm break sustained at the weekend.
