Our ladies have resumed training in preparation for a tough league & Connaught Cup campaign ahead. They kick off their first league game on Sunday Feb 8th away to Tuam Celtic. The ladies have a firm base set for continued success with top quality players in the squad and are seeking to add to the silverware won in 2013 & 2014 when they claimed the Division 1 & League Cup titles respectively. The girls are being whipped into shape this year by experienced coach Ross Sullivan who also has another added interest in the squad. Special mention to former manager Kara Mullins who has handed over the reins to Ross and his assistant Conor Jackson after 2 years in charge as this year she wishes to focus on her playing career. The ladies have always had a group of faithful followers who have braved all weather conditions to support them and this year shouldn’t be any different. There’s a warm welcome extended to new and old players, young and seasoned campaigners and who knows childcare might even be available on-site in a bid to encourage past players who are now mums to return to football action! Training for the ladies takes place this Sunday in Colemanstown at 11am & Tuesday evening on Skehana astro turf at 7pm. The appropriate registration paperwork needs to be completed by all players in advance of next weekend and registration fees must be up to date. As the ladies season looms, let’s hope they can capitalise on their past success.
