Colemanstown ‘A’ had a patient 1-0 win over West Utd; their second win over the city side in 4 days. Colemanstown totally dominated the first half with the best chances of the half falling to Conor Feeney & Stephen Walsh. Damo Wynne broke the deadlock on 55 mins and helped to calm everyone with his fruitful finish; a half volley from 45 yards after an emphatic passage of great passing football involving Ritchie Lally & Ray Moran. West had little or nothing to shout about until then but certainly upped the ante after that but our organised, composed and disciplined rearguard stood up for Colemanstown when needed most as Garry O’ Grady, Trevor Mullins, Jason Finn, Damo Wynne & Alan Finn were solid. Ritchie Lally, Gareth Lally, & Ray Moran showed great leadership & persistence in the middle of the park while Squelchy and Conor Feeney up front did relentless running. Paddy Mullins was unlucky with a 2nd half effort which he drove over the bar from close range. All in all, Damo Wynne’s sole goal was enough to see Colemanstown bag all 3 points in a good evenings work.
