7 weeks today sees the 7th edition of the Colemanstown 10k road race. It’s the perfect way to blow away those Winter cobwebs. While there has never been so many road runners visible no matter where you travel, whether you’re running to achieve your own goals, improve your fitness, set a new personal best, raise money for charity or whatever reason, we hope you’ll sign up for the Colemanstown 10k on Holy Saturday, April 15th at 12noon. We are now in the depths of its planning to enhance our 2017 event. Our 10k is the same as that run since its inception, a lovely flat, quiet, rural, loop route which is ideal for runners and walkers of all abilities and has been recognised by leading runners as one of Galway’s fastest 10k road races. The deadline for those wishing to avail of the early bird fee is March 19th for a reduced fee of €15, €20 thereafter. One can register online on www.runireland.com or of course one can register on the day at the clubhouse in the soccer grounds. So get online and snap up that early bird special before it runs out! We urge as many as possible to register in advance to avoid unnecessary paperwork on the day. There is a range of Category prizes similar to previous years as well as male & female 1st, 2nd & 3rd overall prizes. Each participant taking part will receive a gift token while the kids can also participate in the 1k fun run which precedes the 10k. Last years race was won by Paul Conlon & Jane Anne Meehan was first lady home while Matt Bidwell, Galway City Harriers holds the course record at 32:22.
