Cloonkeenkerrill cemetry will host Dawn Mass on Easter Sunday morning 2015 for the second successive year at 6am. This is a very spiritual opportunity to celebrate Mass while watching the dawn break over the cemetery sky. Fr Raymond Sweeney, PP, Ballymacward/Gurteen will be the chief celebrant at the Mass. People travelling to Mass are asked to bring warm clothing, a folding chair or stool for your own comfort and even a blanket if you want to keep really warm.
This was a very cold but extremely special occasion last year and promises to be the same again this year. The Mass will be followed by an early breakfast of Easter scones and some other goodies. Anyone that attended the celebration last year knows the early morning treats for young and old that’s in store!
The new day should begin to break in on our darkness at about 6.00 am. By assembling in this sacred place in our parish we will unite our voices with those of our departed loved ones in proclaiming the Resurrection and welcoming Christ our light. The Paschal fire at the entrance gate will also provide us with this gentle reminder. We urge you to take as many photos as you can on the morning which you can forward to us for upload to our website. Please like and share this article to spread the word of this special occasion.
Meanwhile, the weather played puck with our crucial ‘A’ Team game against Salthill Devon this morning as the pitch was unplayable due to the heavy rain overnight.
