Colemanstown ‘A’ 1 Corrib Rangers 0
Both sides went into this game sitting closely together and knowing
that a much needed win would prop them a little higher in the table.
John O ‘Brien’s sole goal was enough to win this game but indeed he
had many great chances to get a few more on the scoresheet but in one
instance the keeper pulled off a super one handed save while another
first half effort was well saved following great work from Conor
Feeney & Ronan Geraghty. The deadlock was finally broken in the 2nd
half when Alan Finn & Niall Dempsey did the necessary work; the ball
broke to O’Brien who was clean through & he pushed the ball to the
keepers side with 10mins to go. Rangers had 2 long range efforts but
they were well dealt with by the Colemanstown custodian Joe Flannery.
Colemanstown ‘B’ 1 Barna Furbo 3
Our B team were 1-nil up but lost 3-1 to a more superior Barna Furbo
outfit. Indeed Tommy Kelly, better known as ‘Tommy K’ scored his
first ever goal for the club & his strike sparked mass celebrations.
There may not have been any foul language at the camera but Tommy K’s
joy was immense as he watched his volley hit the net following a mix
up involving the Barna Furbo keeper & striker Steven Broderick. It
was a promising start but the visitors carved out better chances which
they took well. Opportunities also fell to Steven Broderick, Damian
Concannon & Kerrill Hardiman but they were unable to capitalise on
their efforts.
Under 15’s. Colemanstown 4 Lakeside 3
This was an extremely hard fought game vs Lakeside while Colemanstown

Under 11’s Colemanstown 1, Maree/Oranmore1
Colemanstown came from behind in this game but an excellent James
Barclay header following an inch perfect cross from Conor O’Neill was
enough to ensure a share of the spoils in this encounter. Josh Lane &
Barclay had a few more chances which went a-begging while Darren
Brennan & Conor O’Neill had the upper hand at midfield. The back 4 of
Jack Kennedy, Shane Lally, James Moran & Jack Hughes rarely put a foot
wrong while Ali Layton & Gavin Hanlon also played their part as
Colemanstown finished the more confident side.
Under 13’s Colemanstown 1 Colga 3
Colemanstown got off to the worst possible start in this game
conceeding an early goal to the premier league side on 20 seconds.
Aidan Monaghan levelled matters on 10 mins and it was tit for tat
thereafter with chances falling to both sides but both teams were
unable to penetrate a rock solid rearguard on both sides. With 10
mins remaining Colga made it 2-1 and turned the screw in the last kick
of the game with a 3rd goal to knock Colemanstown out of the Cup.
Under 12’s Colemanstown 2 Craughwell 2
This tired under 12 team really showed their fatigue in this encounter
when they conceeded a 2 goal half time advantage as Craughwell got 2
back late in the game to ensure that the top 2 teams in the first
division got a share of the spoils. Kieran Dowd got a great
individual goal while Loran Molloy’s effort from half way found the
net aided by a swift breeze.
