All 9 Colemanstown players tallied either a goal or an assist yesterday morning in the U12’s 8-1 drubbing of Maree/Oranmore in their latest league tie on a cold frosty morning. Harry Mitchell wasted no time in claiming the lead on 2mins when he finished a Tommy Mellody cross. Harry banged home his 2nd soon afterwards. Ciaran Keating finished well for his first goal when he capitalised on some Oranmore mistakes. Cian Ruane had little to do all through but was unlucky not to get to a deflection for an Oranmore goal. Harry Mitchell and Tommy Mellody linked up well to create our 4th for Mellody to score the first of his hat-trick from close range. Late in the half, Jason Rabbitte turned the screw with a mighty strike at the back post to give us a 5-1 cushion that held until half time.
Two quick 2nd half goals from Thomas Mellody extended the margin as Colemanstown were well on fire with the entire panel getting game time. Colemanstown put together a fantastic playing performance allowing the opposition only a few shots at goal. They took control of the game from the start which lasted all through. Players showed great quality with their first touch and were far more superior and dominant throughout the field than the visitors. Ciaran Keating finished the misery with a great strike to salt the game away and finish emphatic winners on an 8-1 scoreline. Well done to mentors Lee Murphy & Ronan Carr while Gareth Lally had to get some kip before the club night out last night.
Panel: Cian Ruane, Conor Laffey, Eanna Burke, Dara Scarry, Adam Cleary, Thomas Mellody, Jason Rabbitte, ciaran Keating, Harry Mitchell, Jonathan Keane, Eoghan Keague. Larry Murrajovos.
