A very good performance from our B team saw them earn a well deserved 1-0 win against Knocknacarra in the League Cup. The goal came from the quick thinking of Niall Shekill, who took a quick corner short to team mate Gary Broderick who delivered a peach of a cross to the back post for Paul Moore to head home past the Knocknacarra keeper. The boys now look forward to a Quarter-Final spot in the coming weeks.
Our under 17’s also had great 2-1 victory over league leaders West Coast United in Colemanstown on Sunday. Two great goals from John Lally and Shane Skehill gave our boys the honours on the day. An excellent team performance displayed by all the lads on the day. Team: T. Broderick, P. Gooney, L. Carty, D.Kelly, C. Sheridan, P. Glynn, J. Gannon, P. Mullins, K.Clancy, J.Lally, A.Fahy. Subs: S.Skehill, M.Mills, C.Kelly and T.Carr
Our under 15’s travelled to Cois Fharraige on Saturday and secured an impressive 6-0 victory on a very windy & cold day. We got off to a good start with Keith Murphy making it 1-0 after ten minutes. Lee Murphy put in a man of the match display and made no mistake when he ran onto the ball on the end line, beating two players to pass the ball into the six-yard box for Keith Connell to make to 2-0. Colemanstown made it 3-0 shortly after when Paul Lally chested the ball down on the edge of the box to set Ronan O’Neill up and he made no mistake in slotting the ball past the keeper. Our boys started the second half with the same fast passing and quick movement with goals from Aidan Monaghan, Lee Murphy and Paul Lally to make it 6-0 at the end of regular time. The Colemanstown reaguard put in excellent performances with Sean Murray making some good saves in the second-half to keep a clean sheet. Well done to all the lads who are still unbeaten this season.
