The Gaynor cup gives young girls the opportunity to represent their county and cut their teeth by taking on the best talent in their age group on a national stage. Kellie Brennan, Brierfield, daughter of Cyril & Karen Brennan has been chosen for the Gaynor Cup squad to play in this prestigious competition from June 22nd to June 25th in University of Limerick. Kellie played with the Colemanstown boys from U11 to U13 where she played with her twin Josh until she joined up with the girls underage team in Cregmore F.C. She was always an asset on our underage boys teams; top scorer for Colemanstown’s U13’s in the 2014/15 season. She continued to develop through the ranks with Cregmore F.C. and has been selected alongside 6 more of her team mates and is now rewarded with playing on the national stage. These Cregmore girls have been hugely successful at underage level, having lost the All Ireland semi final to Shelbourne and won the U16 Connacht title this season. Galway are defending champions in this competition, having beaten the Metropolitan league in Dublin after a nail biting penalty shoot out in 2016. So here’s hoping they can put two titles back to back for another resounding success. All in Colemanstown F.C. wish Kellie and her team mates every success.
