Colemanstown U12’s had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Moyne Villa at home yesterday despite having the majority of possession. Mika Harun gave Colemanstown the lead midway through the first half when he finished from close range following a well taken free kick from Thady Moran. Kellie Brennan & Thady Moran came closest with some good first half chances. Mika was unlucky with a mid-air back heel flick which would surely have been a classic had it found the net. Shane Burke had an excellent opportunity early in the second half when he cut in from the right wing but his finish let him down. Further chances fell to Thady, Kellie & Mika as Ethan Lally & Josh Brennan excelled in defence. That old adage ‘possession is nine-tenths of the law’ didn’t stand up to its word yesterday as Moyne Villa scored the equaliser with 5 mins remaining in what was their only chance in the game but in fairness they took it well. In the last minute Shane Burke again had a chance of a deserved winner but he hit the side net after excellent footwork from Kellie Brennan. Well done to stand in keepers Evan Waldron & Aaron Molloy who did well in the absence of Jason Fahy. Last week these lads, albeit fielding with a somewhat depleted side, lost 6-2 to Maree/Oranmore in a scoreline which didn’t at all justify their performance. Oranmore scored all six in the last 15mins. Newcomer Evan Waldron & Thady Moran with a cracker, scored for Colemanstown.
