4 days to go and many Colemanstown volunteers are working tirelessly to help make this road race our best yet. Some fine tuning & jobs for our many local volunteers will be assigned mid week prior to the race committee’s final get together on Friday. Entries are still coming in on-line but it has been brought to our attention that some problems are being encountered – if you are experiencing any difficulty in registering on www.runireland.com please contact Kenny Duane on 087 6192638 or Martina Donnellan on 087 9000526 who will endeavour to sort any issues arising. Remember, you can also register on the morning of the run at the clubhouse from 10am onwards. The children are also currently doing their own little preparations for the 1k fun run which is scheduled for 11am. Our hospitality marquee will be erected on the morning of the run so any volunteers wishing to enhance the aroma therein by doing some fresh baking has full approval to do so! You can’t beat the smell of fresh baked confectionery and goodies – these alone will make it worthwhile participating in this 10k. Race numbers and complimentary gift token can be picked up at the soccer club grounds on the day of the run. The start line is 1k from registration HQ so plenty of time should be allocated to get to the start line for the 12noon race start. Clear instructions on this will be given by our MC on the day. Any walkers should stay at the rear of the field to ensure all runners get away safely. Marshalls will be present at each junction while each km mark will be clearly signposted. Prizegiving will take place as soon as results are available after the run while results will be texted to each participant after the run and will also be posted on our website together with finish line photos. We hope you thoroughly enjoy the run in what promises to be a fantastic community & family day on this great sporting occassion.
