Following on from the huge success in 2012 with 160 participants, preparations have commenced for the 2013 event. The race is unique in itself with last years winner claiming it to be one of the fastest 10k routes in Galway. This years 10k takes place on Holy Saturday, March 30th commencing at 12noon and preceeded by a childrens 1k fun run at 11am. Again, the run takes place on the same route as the last 2 years. So anyone looking to crack their PB, it’s a ‘must’ run. It also offers ideal preparation for the Connemarathon which is scheduled for the following weekend April 7th. Furthermore, to savour the many cooked goodies is a delight in itself and well worth the running effort. You can register on www.runireland.com prior to March 15th for a reduced early bird fee of €15. The cost is €20 after that date and also on the day at the clubhouse in Colemanstown Soccer grounds. The event is again chip timed by Red Tag Timing. This year’s male & female winners will receive perpetual trophies as well as a cash prize for 1st, 2nd & 3rd overall winners and category prizes for male & female O/40, O/50 & O/60 generously sponsored by Frank & Bernie Burke, Colemanstown. So whether you’re a spectator or a participant come along to enjoy the atmosphere and the hospitality.
