Our ladies team will contest the Womens GFA Cup this Sunday in Eamon Deacy Park against Bealnamulla (Athlone) at 6pm. This promises to be an interesting encounter as Colemanstown ladies were crowned Division 1 league winners over a month ago whilst Bealnamulla were crowned Premier league winners only last weekend and both teams are eager to clinch the double. Its a battle of the ‘big 2’ and remains to be seen if the lack of match practice for the past month for these Colemanstown ladies will be a telling factor. Not if Rosaleen Mullins has anything to do with it as her magic filled sandwiches on their last training session of the sesaon last night might fill the girls with the energy, trickery and skill required to beat Bealnamulla. So all roads lead to EDP on Sunday as a large crowd is expected to roar on our Ladies as they bid to enter our history books; “Double Success in their first Year”
