If you’re looking for the perfect way to blow away those winter cobwebs, well here goes….Colemanstown 10K is not all that far away. Our race committee are now in the depths of planning to organise the event which is now in it’s 6th successive year and well established in the road racing calendar of events at this stage. We have managed to maintain our traditional Holy Saturday date again, this year falling a bit earlier in the calendar, March 26th. The race will again be preceded by the childrens 1K race at 11am. With race day just over 8 weeks away, the deadline for those wishing to avail of the early bird fee is looming, February 26th is the date to bear in mind for those looking for a good bargain at a reduced fee of €15, otherwise €20 post early bird date. The run route is the same as that run previously and is a fast, flat course and is recognised as one of Galways road races particularly for setting oneself a good PB and is therefore ideal for runners of all abilities. Runners can enter on line on www.runireland.com or enter on the morning of the run at the clubhouse. Participants in the past & race organisers emphasise the friendly nature of this 10K. The club together with the huge goodwill of many in the community puts on its now infamous spread worthy of feeding any king. So get prepared, dust off those runners and winter cobwebs, you’ve over 8 weeks left to prepare for that almighty sense of gratification and satisfaction once you cross that finish line.
