We hope our football action gets back on track this weekend after a 3 week sojourn due to the weather. Although we had no games there was still plenty of news stories during our break: Garry and Deirdre O’Grady welcomed a beautiful baby boy Finn into their family last week (With a name like Finn, Deirdre is certainly ensuring he won’t ever forget his roots) and everyone sends them sincerest congratulations given the tough year they’ve had.
Ollie Crowe turned 40 and celebrated it with a big dinner party bash. He still has all the nice snazzy moves and contrary to turning 40 he’s making them just as fast! There’s no sign of any creaking yet plus he hasn’t yet reverted to investing in a nose and ear hair trimmers!
Tommy K will have more songs written about him after bagging €410 jackpot in Novembers 50/50 monthly draw. It couldn’t have been won by a more loyal and true supporter of the club.
Our Last Man Standing is whittled down to 30 standing after 7 weeks much to the delight of organisers David Gilligan and Jayo Finn. Im sure those 30 will be keeping a close eye on proceedings heretofore and studying the recent form of teams with €1000 at stake for the winner, hopefully before Christmas.
Meanwhile on the football front our ‘A’ team game vs Corrib Rangers has been deferred. However we still have plenty of action this weekend, all at home, let’s see how our pitch will hold up. The U12’s commence early morning proceedings with a 10.30 KO vs West Coast Utd who travel all the way from Letterfrack. Our Reserve game vs Athenry has been changed to 12noon KO while our ‘B’ team play Oughterard at 2pm.
